Duck Duck Moose
Leading authorities in the field of social and emotional learning have concluded that levels of adjustment, psychological health and academic achievement are directly related to a child’s social competency, emotional literacy, and ability to form successful peer relationships.
By learning to control impulses, express emotions and recognize the feelings of others, a young child is better prepared to enter into friendships and maintain them throughout elementary school.
Potato Sprout's first project, titled Duck Duck Moose, is designed to help young children at risk for rejection and
social alienation by fostering their social and emotional literacy.
Duck Duck Moose is an in-school program for preschool children that combines CGI animation with a live actor/facilitator. This unique approach is designed to fully engage the children and facilitate a deeper learning experience.
Moose and friends teach children about emotion identification, emotion management and effective problem-solving, tools researchers found essential for success in elementary school.
Potato Sprout is currently engaged in fundraising for the project and estimates a budget of $24,000. See timeline.
